As you may be aware, CUNY Central has transitioned to
distance-learning for the rest of the semester and is cancelling all
upcoming events on-campuses due to the Coronavirus situation. AS SUCH,
IT IS WITH OUR DEEPEST REGRET THAT WE MUST ANNOUNCE THE POSTPONEMENT
OF THE 25TH ANNIVERSARY CUNY LAW REVIEW SYMPOSIUM. This decision was
out of our hands, but we understand CUNY Law’s decision and join
their goal to keep our community as safe and healthy as possible amid
changing circumstances. The safety of our communities are always
first. WE ARE CURRENTLY WORKING WITH CUNY LAW'S ADMINISTRATION TO
SECURE AN ALTERNATIVE DATE FOR THE SYMPOSIUM IN THE FALL— MOST
LIKELY IN SEPTEMBER, AND WILL COMMUNICATE THIS INFORMATION AS SOON AS
IT BECOMES AVAILABLE TO US. This fall, we still want to celebrate the
25th Anniversary of CUNY Law Review, while also bring attention to the
important voting rights reforms that passed in N.Y. state, and the
upcoming 2020 election.
CUNY Law Review is deeply sorry about not being able to execute the
symposium as planned and for any unfulfilled expectations that this
may cause. CUNY Law Review is very grateful for our honorees,
panelists, moderators, sponsors, volunteers, and alumni who had
graciously agreed to be part of CUNY Law Review's Symposium.
Lastly, although we will not be hosting our symposium this spring,
CUNY LAW REVIEW IS STILL AWARDING TWO LAW STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS THIS
SUMMER. PLEASE CONSIDER DONATING TO OUR GIVEGAB
[https://www.givegab.com/campaigns/2020-cuny-law-review-scholarship-fund],
THESE SUMMER SCHOLARSHIPS ARE ESSENTIAL IN ENSURING THAT CUNY LAW
STUDENTS AND CUNYLR STAFFERS, ARE ABLE TO DO PUBLIC INTEREST WORK
DURING THE SUMMER AND ARE ABLE TO PAY FOR HOUSING, FOOD, AND
TRANSPORTATION DURING THEIR SUMMER INTERNSHIPS.
Thank you all again and stay safe!
