_Adam Tully is a tango guitarist based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. A
native of New York, he travelled to Buenos Aires in the mid-nineties
and studied with tango guitarist Aníbal Arias. When he returned to
the U.S. he took an active role in tango, playing in with Octavio
Brunetti, Daniel Binelli, Raul Jaurena, Tito Castro, Pancho Navarro
and Pablo Pereyra. __The Adam Tully Trio, formed in New York in 2015,
is inspired by the tradition of tango guitar groups and serves as a
vehicle for original compositions. The side musicians (Emilio Teubal,
piano; Pedro Giraudo, bass) are both accomplished Argentine
bandleader/composers in their own right. In the trio the lead guitar
is supported by piano and bass. This is an unusual instrumentation in
tango, and invites new compositional ideas and sounds. _
_Since 2014 Adam Tully has been involved in tango education, serving
on the faculty of Tango Para Músicos in Buenos Aires and Tango For
Musicians at Reed College. Adam has toured the U.S. and Latin America,
performing at Merkin Hall, Symphony Space, Kaufman Concert Hall,
Carnegie Hall, and the Centro Cultural San Martín, and has appeared
on many recordings, jingles, and film scores. He holds a Master of
Music from The New School/Mannes, and a Bachelor of Arts from New York
University._
