On this cultural journey through Central Park & the UWS, we’ll EXPLORE THE CITY’s rich CUBAN HERITAGE THROUGH ART, food, & CULTURE.I like to break down the experience into 3 artistic/cultural sites & 3 samplings of Cuban cuisine, which I combine for a total of 3 mini experiences. 1st - We’ll get to know each other over a delicious cafecito (Cuban espresso made with love) near the statue of Cuban independence hero José Martí in Central Park. 2nd - We’ll try some freshly cut caña (sugarcane) near a gorgeous mural of a traditional sugarcane harvest at the former site of Victor’s Cafe, the city’s first Cuban restaurant. 3rd - We’ll visit one of the world's last authentic Cuban-Chinese restaurants, where we’ll eat some of the best maduros (Afro-Cuban sweet plantains) I’ve ever tasted. So get ready to experience NYC...a lo cubano!
