present THE CLASSICAL LAB READING SERIES CONCERT PERFORMANCE OF
Schiller’s MARY STUART Mary Stuart, also known as Mary, Queen of
Scots, is the prisoner of her regal cousin, Queen Elizabeth the 1st,
but also the victim of her own guilty conscience. But, if Mary is
physically confined, Elizabeth is metaphysically trapped by the
ancient intrigues of court life and the isolation of monarchy. Join us
as two classically trained actresses go head to head in Schiller’s
regal drama, featuring Tony award-winning actress Trezana Beverley as
Queen Elizabeth and AUDELCO award winning actress Debra Ann Byrd as
Mary, Queen of Scots. Filling out the cast are 12 Classically Trained
Actors of Color, with stage direction by AUDELCO award-winning actress
and director Petronia Paley and dramatury and text by celebrated
artist, director and historian Dathan B. Williams. The performance
