Cherry Orchard Festival presents an annual Meet-The-Artist series at
the 53RD STREET LIBRARY, 18 West 53rd Street, NEW YORK, NY. Join the
stars of the Moscow Pushkin Drama Theatre (Russia) to learn about the
U.S. Premiere of the “visually striking, psychologically nuanced”
(The Stage, UK), award-winning production of Anton Chekhov's
masterpiece—The Cherry Orchard, staged by visionary Director
Vladimir Mirzoev.
The leading actors of Moscow Pushkin Drama Theatre: Victoria Isakova,
Aleksander Petrov, Mikhail Zhigalov, Maxim Vitorgan and others, along
with Cherry Orchard Festival producers, Maria Shclover and Irina
Shabshis, will discuss this emotional and musical production that
strikes a chord with our times. While The Cherry Orchard embodies the
spirit of Russia at the turn of the 20th century, Mirzoev's
contemporary version conveys societal collapse—recognizable in
recent events.
The program will include Q&A session.
Admission is FREE.
The seating is on FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED BASIS.
In Russian with English translation.
