Join us for a fun bike ride around Central Park! Experiencing the park on a bicycle is the best way to witness its entirety in just a couple hours. Manhattan and Beyond Tours owner, Lyall Croft leads this tour and is a former park employee, with extensive knowledge of the park. Care will be taken to present the story of Central Park's origins, design aspects, social philosophy, adjacent architecture and influences that have shaped the park since its construction.
This casual ride around Central Park utilizes bicycle lanes on the park’s drives and stops are made where your guide points out sites and provides pertinent information. Locations visited include; Literary Walk (the Mall), seen in many movies; the Bethesda Terrace, Central Park’s centerpiece; woodlands and waterfalls; spectacular views of area architecture across the Reservoir; Strawberry Fields, a peace garden in memorial to John Lennon and much more. Backed by your guides knowledge of the parks, history, horticulture, design, improvements, facts and inside knowledge ….. you will gain a lot. Time will be given to experience lesser-known picturesque landscapes, beautiful skyline views and information about the surrounding re-estate.
