Tabletop Role-Playing enables students to engage their imaginations, explore identity, and role play through imagined scenarios in a collaborative storytelling environment. Each class session will challenge students to make decisions, collaborate, and use their creativity within the framework of a tabletop role-playing game (TTRPG). Students will be encouraged to bring their full creative selves to each session as storytellers, improvisers, actors, and problem-solvers. Throughout the “campaign,” students will face simulated emotional, logical, and geometrical challenges on their journey. Using statistical-tracking software alongside pencil and paper, students will roll dice as storytelling aides to help determine the outcomes of situations. Students will have the freedom to develop their own characters and explore their own individual expression within the confines of the story and through the guidance and mentorship of the instructors, centering each of their unique ways of thinking.
