Those looking to lead trips for AMC are invited to this comprehensive
2-day event. It will be a great opportunity to hone your LEADERSHIP
SKILLS, discuss best practices, explore new ideas, share your
experiences and connect with the NY-NoJ leader community.
The WORKSHOP IS GEARED TOWARDS THOSE ASPIRING TO BECOME LEADERS BUT
THOSE WHO HAVE ONLY RECENTLY BECOME LEADERS WILL BENEFIT AS WELL.
Participants will learn more about the AMC while building a solid
foundation for becoming volunteer leaders with the NY-NoJ Chapter. At
the WORKSHOP, prospective leaders will also have the opportunity to
connect with a mentor as an important next step in their LEADERSHIP
JOURNEY.
New leaders can fill in some gaps and gain confidence in leading.
We will cover a variety of topics including: activity planning,
LEADERSHIP STYLES, group dynamics, conservation, accident scene
management, managing challenging participants, creating a welcoming
environment, and mentoring.
Instruction will be provided by experienced AMC volunteers and staff.
Our goal is to foster a positive learning environment where
participants can improve their skills, gain confidence and delve more
deeply into topics of interest to the leader community.
For everyone, the WORKSHOP IS A GREAT CHANCE TO CONNECT - visit with
old friends, make new ones, and participate in a conversation about
LEADERSHIP WITHIN OUR AMC COMMUNITY.
