On any given day, our soul savors rituals for renewal. So that the
headlines in the news or the headlines in our families don’t steer
us. Each time we come to prayer or spiritual practices, our thoughts
and spirit are transformed.
We hope you will join us for Middle Church’s 10th Annual Spiritual
Retreat: TRANSFORMATION FROM THE INSIDE OUT, upstate at the STONY
POINT CENTER Friday, January 5 – Sunday, January 7.
We will gather to be nourished by spiritual practices and spiritual
community. We will be reflecting on Romans 12: 1-8
[https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Romans+12%3A+1-8&version=MSG].
One of the famous lines of this text in the NRSV is: “Be transformed
by the renewing of your mind.”
Our senior minister, Jacqui Lewis, and the consistory invite you to
deepen our connections to one another and deepen our spiritual lives.
The registration fee includes round-trip bus transport from Middle
Church to Stony Point Center [http://stonypointcenter.org/] in
Rockland County, New York, lodging for two nights, and meals on
Saturday and Sunday made from scratch in the Stony Point Kitchens.
Rooms are double occupancy, with two twin beds in most rooms.
On Friday, January 5, participants will gather at Middle Church (50 E.
7th Street) at 6 pm and the bus will leave promptly at 6:30 pm. We
will return to Middle Church on Sunday, January 7 at 4:00 pm.
This year's annual spiritual retreat will be led by Rev. Hershey
Mallette Stephens, Rob Stephens and Christina Fleming.
Registration is $350 this year. (The lodging and bus costs increased
this year.) You also have the opportunity to sponsor others to
attend through full scholarships and donations. And there is an
option at registration to pay in three installments of $116.66.
