INDEPENDENT, INVESTIGATIVE NEWS SITE CITY LIMITS HOSTS A LIVELY
EXCHANGE ON GROWTH, DEVELOPMENT AND CITY POLICY ON MAY 10TH AT
6:30PM. Join Tom Angotti, Vicki Been and Moses Gates for a debate on
the complexities of de Blasio's push for density, moderated by City
Limits Executive Editor & Publisher Jarrett Murphy. Tom Angotti, a
professor at Hunter College and the author of _Zoned Out! Race,
Displacement, and City Planning in New York City_ has become a
leading critic of De Blasio's neighborhood rezoning strategy and the
administration's push for housing growth. Vicki Been served as de
Blasio's commissioner of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD)
before stepping down this February to return to teaching at NYU and is
currently faculty director at NYU Furman Center. Moses Gates,
formerly at the Association for Housing and Neighborhood Development
and now at the Regional Planning Association, also has his critiques
of the administration's housing policy, but sees the value of
increased density, too.
There is a $10 donation at the door. Free to City Limits members.
