Join JANNA LEVIN AND BRIAN GREENE IN CONVERSATION TO DISCUSS OUR FLEETING BUT UTTERLY EXQUISITE MOMENT IN THE COSMOS. BRIAN GREENE, the world-renowned physicist and best-selling author of _The Elegant Universe_, launches his captivating new book _Until the End of Time: Mind, Matter, and Our Search for Meaning in an Evolving Universe_ at Pioneer Works. _Until the End of Time_ is Greene’s riveting exploration into the cosmos and our quest to understand it. He takes us on a journey across time, starting from our most refined understanding of the universe’s beginning to the closest science can take us to the very end. How do life and mind emerge from the initial chaos? How do our minds seek meaning in experience: in narrative, myth, religion, creative expression, science, the quest for truth, and our longing for the eternal? Through a series of nested stories that explain distinct but interwoven layers of reality—from quantum mechanics to consciousness to black holes—Greene provides us with a clearer sense of how we came to be, a finer picture of where we are now, and a firmer understanding of where we are headed. Join Janna Levin, our Director of Sciences, in conversation with Brian Greene to grasp and gain a refined appreciation for our fleeting, but utterly exquisite, moment in the cosmos. Books will be available for sale at the event and a book signing will follow the CONVERSATION. Weather permitting, there will also be stargazing with the Amateur Astronomers Association of NY [https://www.aaa.org/] in our garden. Space is limited for this event, so please note that the RSVPs are restricted to two tickets per person. We want to welcome everyone and will do our best to accommodate our audience, although we regret that an RSVP cannot guarantee entry. We encourage you to come early to find a seat or a spot. BRIAN GREENE is a professor of physics and mathematics and Director of Columbia University's Center for Theoretical Physics and is renowned for his groundbreaking discoveries in superstring theory. He is the author of _The Elegant Universe_, _The Fabric of the Cosmos_, and _The Hidden Reality_, which have collectively spent sixty-five weeks on _The New York Times _best-seller list and sold more than two million copies worldwide. He has hosted two Peabody and Emmy Award winning NOVA miniseries based on his books. With producer Tracy Day, Greene co-founded the World Science Festival. JANNA LEVIN is the Chair and Founding Director of the Science Studios at PIONEER WORKS. She is also the Claire Tow Professor of physics and astronomy at Barnard College of Columbia University. A Guggenheim Fellow, JANNA HAS CONTRIBUTED TO AN UNDERSTANDING OF BLACK HOLES, the cosmology of extra dimensions, and gravitational waves in the shape of spacetime. She is the presenter of the NOVA feature _Black Hole Apocalypse_, aired on PBS—the first female presenter for NOVA in 35 years. Janna also won a PEN prize for a first work of fiction. This project is supported by Science Sandbox, a Simons Foundation initiative dedicated to engaging everyone with the process of science.
