Community scale COMPOST SITES LIKE THE ONE HOSTED BY LES ECOLOGY
CENTER RELY ON VOLUNTEERS TO HELP DIVERT LOCAL RESIDENTS' FOOD SCRAPS
FROM LANDFILLS AND CONTINUE TO build awareness about COMPOSTING.
VOLUNTEERS ON THIS SITE MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER place and often get
great exercise along the way. Tasks include but are not limited
to: chopping/raking/inspecting food scraps to be COMPOSTED, sifting
finished COMPOST, COMPOST PILE MAINTENANCE, sweeping, site
maintenance and much more.Please arrive on time with shoes and clothes
to work outside as well as a water bottle for personal hydration.
Gloves, tools, and any other necessary protective gear will be

The site is lot directly south of the amphitheater. The entrance is on
the side facing the FDR not the waterfront.
