ALIENS
"ALIENS return after a long hiatus including personnel changes and
illness. Blake Sandberg, ALIENS frontman/guitarist suffers from the
effects of exposure to 9/11 dust. He is healthier now and ready to
play shows again. ALIENS debut album Head First reached the CMJ Top
200 via the frequent radio airplay of songs like ""Reflex Motor,""
""Committed To Wind,"" ""Moving Parts,"" and ""Stow Away."" Called a
“an angular hybrid of new punk,” in the press - “ALIENS bring
something real to the party!” If you like The Stooges and 70s era
punk, or you are a Dinosaur Jr. or Sonic Youth fan ALIENS will not
disappoint. Varying songs from a lo-fi pulse to an explosive sonic
assault.
This underground band has played CBGB, The Knitting Factory, Bowery
Electric, Cake Shop, Santos Party House, House of Vans, CMJ Fest,
SXSW, and toured the US. Blake recorded with Hunt Sales (Iggy Pop/
David Bowie), who appears on two Head First tracks (Guinea Pig and
Survivor Story). Blake has also recorded with The Rammellzee and
collaborated with Taylor Meade, and played shows with Jad Fair and
Half Japanese, Broncho, Twin Guns, James Chance, Daniel Johnston, and
opened for OFF!
A new single will be out this year and a new album is in the works.
ALIENS are back and sound better than ever! "
