The Long Island band History of Rock ‘n’ Roll will perform songs from seven decades of rock music on Saturday, October 26, from 5: 30 to 7:00 pm in the Vanderbilt Museum’s Charles and Helen Reichert Planetarium.
The band takes the audience on a multi-media musical journey from the inception of Rock ‘n’ Roll in the 1950s to today. Experience the music of the ‘50s, ‘60s, ‘70s, ‘80s and more.
From Elvis Presley and The Beatles to the sounds of Disco and Billy Joel, the History of Rock ‘n’ Roll combines music, costumes, and video in an unforgettable evening.
Tickets: $20 online, $25 at the door, and $15 for ages 15 and under.

“I created the band to pay homage to the music I loved, starting with the ‘50s,” said bandleader John M. Pinna. “Both of my parents grew up in the ‘50s and we always had ‘50s music playing in my house. I can remember quite vividly the sounds of Elvis Presley echoing throughout my childhood.”
Combining the “look” of each decade is just as important to this experience as the music, Pinna said: “It’s not enough to simply play the songs. Music is the soundtrack to people’s lives. So, what better way to represent each decade than to wear the fashions of each decade that people remember so fondly. We bring the decades of Rock ‘n’ Roll to life. It’s also a lot of fun!”
History of Rock ‘n’ Roll, which features the powerhouse vocal talents of Teri Pavia and Emily McNamara, comprises veteran musicians from the tri-state area’s cover and tribute-band industry. Band members are Pinna on vocals/bass, Constantine Notaridis on guitar/vocals, Chris Cardello on drums, JC Keys on keyboards/vocals, and Nick Gardell on saxophone.
