Days for teens to just “be” — relaxing in hammocks, making art
in nature, conversing and discussing topics with friends. These
Summer Fridays are designed for teens to de-stress, contemplate the
world, and reflect on life with both quiet and social time, with
art-making and skill-building as a focus. The teens’ own interests
lead the way with activities, nature observation, and art and craft
materials such as painting, sewing, beading, sculpture, fiber, clay
work, and more. There will be opportunities for wilderness
skill-building, games, swimming and of course snack! Your teens will
come home feeling more connected, centered, and happy! Through daily
woods and river explorations, featuring fun field experiences, teens
will: Learn to read the landscape Practice wilderness skills Hike and
learn local geography Study the waterways and aquatic life Create art
from natural materials Learn more about the Earth’s amazing
processes Make new friends! For ages 10 – 15 *Please note swimming
is optional and not mandatory. Your young teen is welcome to continue
with arts or skill-building during that time.
