Join the ROCKEFELLER STATE PARK PRESERVE ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP
TEAM FOR THIS volunteer day event! The Preserve lands are valued for
their beauty and recognized for their diverse native plants and
animals, which will soon encompass over 2,000 acres of woodlands,
wetlands, forests, and fields. Today, our ecosystems face many threats
that are drastically changing the forests’ landscapes. Volunteering
at Rockefeller Preserve is more important now than ever before.
On the 20th, we will be removing invasive plants, cutting vines from
trees, and spreading native seed to promote habitat restoration!
Volunteers may also use this time to learn about all the ways to get
involved, including citizen science opportunities and how to help in
the garden. We depend upon volunteer stewards, like you, to protect
our public lands for future generations. Please bring work gloves if
you have them. Otherwise, a limited number will be available to sign
out for the day.
