CELEBRATING THE 100TH anniversary of the Optical Society of America,
Physics-OPTICS-Astronomy Library’s (POA) current EXHIBIT FOCUSES ON
THE FOUNDING AND EARLY YEARS OF THE INSTITUTE OF OPTICS AND ALSO
HIGHLIGHTS THE IMPACT THE INSTITUTE HAS HAD ON OTHER UNIVERSITY OF
ROCHESTER ENDEAVORS.
_The Institute of Optics: A Prismatic History _is one of a series of
exhibits that highlights the unique history of the POA as well as the
academic disciplines it serves. Created in a spirit of collaboration,
this ongoing exhibit series will be the product of efforts by
students, faculty, and staff from the disciplines POA represents, as
well as the River Campus Libraries. We hope that by discovering and
celebrating the past, these exhibits will nurture greater
understanding of the present and inspire the scientific work of the
future.
