This four hour workshop is designed to allow anyone who is interested
in gaining a solid foundation on Tapestry Weaving. Basic plain weave
is taught with an emphasis on details such as texture, fringe, shapes
and pattern. Different threads such as wool roving and a variety of
yarn weights will be offered with a neutral color palette. We will top
off the workshop with a mini lesson on the loom, warp, and getting
your piece ‘display ready’. This means taking your piece off the
loom and attaching it to a wooden dowel. All makers will leave with a
medium-large wall hanging for their finished piece. Courtney Craig
along with shop Peppermint owner Tanvi Asher, are excited to host this
workshop at the Culver Armory in hopes of bringing people together to
create original textiles while supporting shelter animals at Verona
Street Animal Society. 20% of the proceeds from this workshop will be
donated to VSAS along with any donations dropped off at the workshop
site or in store at shop Peppermint.
