Musicians interested in playing Irish dance music and open to learning by ear are invited, melody and chord players alike. We will learn and arrange Irish dance melodies, experimenting with adding chordal and harmonic accompaniment. Instruments commonly used to play Irish traditional music such as fiddles, flutes, tin whistles, accordions, concertinas, tenor banjos, mandolins, guitars, bouzoukis, harps, etc., are encouraged. Class materials will be shared online, including instructional videos, charts, and written summaries. Students from the previous offering of this class (Winter 2025) are encouraged to re enroll, plus new students are invited! If you are interested, but unsure if this class is for you, please get in touch directly with Oona & James at drankthegold@gmail.com. Scholarships are available!
