SPONTANEOUS BROADWAYA FULLY IMPROVISED MUSICAL EXPERIENCE INSPIRED BY
THE AUDIENCE
Doors Open @ 7:30pm, Event Starts @ 8:00pm
Spontaneous Broadway, where performers audition Broadway-style songs
that they create on the spot based on song titles created by you, the
audience. Vote for your favorite song and see it brought to life by
our performers as they improvise an entire hour-long musical around
it! It's an experience that must be seen to be believed.
ACT ONE? Audience members jot down never-before-sung titles of songs.
Performers then improvise new Broadway musical numbers based on these
titles of the top of their heads!
THE SECOND ACT?! A full-length improvised musical based on the
audience's favorite song! SPONTANEOUS BROADWAY is a virtuoso piece
that challenges improvisers and amazes audiences.
Created by Kat Koppett in association with Freestyle Repertory Theatre
Co. in New York City, SPONTANEOUS BROADWAY is a fictional backers
audition for a new Broadway musical then brought to the
stage. TheatreWeek magazine named creator Koppett one of its unsung
heroes of the year in honor of her invention of this exciting format!

FAQS
WILL I GET PICKED ON BY THE COMEDIANS?
Absolutely not. Improv is about getting inspiration from the audience
to help us invent scenes and songs on the spot. We celebrate your
contribution to the show because you are part of it. Any volunteers we
ask to join us onstage we GUARANTEE will be 110% cooler than they were
when they were in their seat.
What's your snow cancellation policy?
“The show must go on” and, if at all possible, it does at the
Mopco. In the event of very extreme weather or natural disaster, we
will email ticket holders with the news 3 HOURS BEFORE SHOWTIME that
we had to cancel. In the event of a show cancellation, ticket holders
will be offered alternate dates to choose from to attend a show of
equal or lesser value. For those without tickets, please follow our
Facebook page for updates.
ARE THERE ID OR MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENTS TO ENTER THE EVENT?
There are no minimum age requirements for attendees. Typically shows
are within a PG-13 rating. Our performances are improvised so the
content is largely determined by the audience and the suggestions you
give. We don't avoid "blue" humor but we try to be a little more
creative with off-color suggestions than the obvious.
DO YOU HAVE A LATE POLICY FOR SEATING?
Yes. Our shows begin promptly. If a performance is sold out, unused
tickets will be released to the waitlist beginning at five minutes to
curtain. Please arrive early so that your ticket is not re-sold. There
are no refunds within 24 hours of show time. Exchanges for a
comparable performance can only be made up to two hours prior to a
given performance.
WHAT ARE MY TRANSPORTATION/PARKING OPTIONS FOR GETTING TO AND FROM THE
EVENT?
Street parking is available on Union and N Jay street by our Theatre.

public lots within a short walk of the theatre. The lot directly
