Image of a wood THRUSH NEAR POCANTICO RIVER BY EDUCATOR, photographer,
and researcher Elijah Goodwin, PhD.
Wood thrush are known for their hauntingly beautiful song. They nest
here at RSPP. However, their nesting success is extremely low and
their population is in decline. Wood thrush are struggling to survive
due to habitat loss and a rise in predation. Dr. Goodwin has been
studying wood thrush in Rockefeller Preserve for years. As part of
this exclusive event, he will present his findings and the serious
implications behind them.
