FAQs
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
Minimum age required: 12 years old - 18 years old
What is the difference between an art class and an expressive arts class?
Expressive arts classes offer tools and activities for letting go of the inner critique. The instructor is an experienced teaching artist offering guidance for painting and drawing for wellness, stresss management and relaxation. The class will often include: meditation, exploring intuition, lessons on how to let go of the outcome. The mediums used include: watercolor, acrylic, pastel, marker, mixed media and more. The major difference is in the product. The students may not produce completed artwork. The experience is the focus. Learning how to let go of trying to make perfect art, stressing about mistakes and relax. The focus to on "just create" without judgement or pressure to produce.
PAINTING AND DRAWING CLASSES: The focus in on learning and/or growing in our creative application. We recommend trying to learn a mew medium every month, try differnt styles and surfaces. Students may not produce regularly based on their own timeline. Students that practice at home will learn quicker and produce more artwork. Students set the pace, choose the medium, subject and style.
