The purpose of this group is to establish a safe place where people
can deal with the pain and isolation brought about by the ending of a
significant relationship. We are not a singles group or a dating
network. Instead, we are a family where it is safe to be ourselves.
The goal of the meeting is to help members to develop into healthier,
more complete, independent, loving men and women. We hope that by
being together, listening to each other, and by sharing our
experiences, strength and hope, we will learn to see the value of life
in a new context. For the first hour of each meeting members share
their experiences. The second half of the meeting is reserved for a
guest speaker relating to either the legal or emotional aspects of
separation/divorce. We meet every Monday eveing at the Church in the
Highlands, 35 Bryant Ave. White Plains, New York. We are a mixed group
of men and women. There are about 50 members, with approximately 20
attendees per meeting. There are no fees, new members are welcome, no
reservation is necessary. We pass a basket at each meeting and suggest
a five dollar donation per meeting to cover the cost of the meeting
place and coffee/cookies served at the meeting.
