Yin Yoga blends principals from both China and India, drawing upon the Chinese primordial force of Yin – being slower, cooler, quieter, more within (as opposed to Yang – fast, hot, expressive) and applying Yin to the Yoga practice. Long gentle holding of shapes with the body allows for exploration and meditation. This is type of movement is great for those new to yoga while also providing rich experience for even the most advanced of yogis.
