ORGANIC/SUSTAINABLE BEEKEEPING. * KIM FLOTTUM has been the Editor of
the monthly magazine Bee Culture for over 30 years and 4 years ago
launched BEEKeeping Your First Three Years, a quarterly how-to
magazine aimed specifically at beginners. During that time he has
written 8 books, covering beginning, intermediate and advanced
beekeeping skills and has edited more than a dozen books by other
authors. He is an invited international speaker and the retired
Chairman of the Board of the Eastern Apiculture Society, and past
President of the Connecticut and Ohio State Beekeeping Associations.
He and his wife Kathy have gardens, chickens, bees and cats at home to
keep them busy. Mr. Flottum currently resides in Ohio.

DR. KIRSTEN TRAYNOR earned her PhD in biology from Arizona State
University and has received the prestigious German Chancellor
Scholarship from the Humboldt Foundation in 2006-2007. She is the
author of several books and 50+ published articles in national and
international magazines on BEEKEEPING. While a grad student, she spent
almost a year in Avignon, France in the lab of Dr. Yves Le Conte as a
Fulbright Fellow. She then investigated how pesticides impact honey
bee health as a post doc at the University of Maryland in the lab of
Dr. vanEngelsdorp. From 2015-2017 she edited Bee World, published by
the International Bee Research Association. She is a former editor of
the American Bee Journal (November 2017-December 2018). Dr. TRAYNOR
CURRENTLY RESIDES IN MARYLAND AND OPERATES FLICKERWOOD APIARY, a
boutique honey bee operation that specializes in producing high
quality nucleus colonies, locally adapted queens, and gourmet honey.

ARE THERE ID OR MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENTS TO ENTER THE EVENT?
No, but each person attending, regardless of age, must have a paid
ticket.
WHAT ARE MY TRANSPORTATION/PARKING OPTIONS FOR GETTING TO AND FROM THE
EVENT?
There is ample parking near the auditorium.
WHAT CAN I BRING INTO THE EVENT?
No eating or drinking is allowed in the seating area of the
auditorium. You can bring snacks or lunch, but it must be consumed
outside the auditorium area.

WHAT'S THE REFUND POLICY?
You can request a refund for your ticket up to seven days before the

Your ticket is transferrable. If transferred, the recipient must
