CREATIVE MIXER
Join us at SunTrust Gallery to mix with other artists, art lovers,
arts leaders, and CREATIVE CONNECTORS. Along with having fun
connecting with other CREATIVES, this is also an opportunity to see
our 2019 Members' Showcase, on exhibit during this event. Free and
open to the public.
Please bring a potluck item to share, if possible, along with your
business cards. Beer and dessert will be provided. Attendees will
also be entered in a drawing for prizes like an art supplies goodie
bag, DAG membership, and framing gift card.

We have SO many great ways to plug-in, meet people, expand your skills
and advance the arts community through DAG. This event also serves as
a drop-in Open House if you'd like to meet our staff, the leaders of
our teams, and learn more about the following ways to get involved:
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
ARE YOU INTERESTED IN LEADING AND PASSIONATE ABOUT THE ARTS IN OUR
COMMUNITY? The Board of Directors leadership is a fun and dedicated
working board responsible for steering the vision, mission, resources,
and sustainability of the DURHAM ART GUILD. We are currently seeking
new board members for terms beginning on July 1. If you are interested
in submitting a Board Member Interest Form

please do so ASAP or preferrably before this event and we will be in
touch.
_The Board of Directors meets monthly on the first Wednesday of the
month from 6:30-8:00pm.

MEMBER SERVICES COMMITTEE
INTERESTED IN OR SKILLED IN PRODUCING EVENTS AND PROGRAMMING AS WELL
AS ASPECTS OF HOSPITALITY AND CUSTOMER SERVICE? We are currently
working on some updated professional development programming structure
and always working to help bring more benefit to DAG membership from
year to year.
_This committee meets on the Monday of the second or third week of
each month from 6:15-7:15pm.

MARKETING COMMITTEE
ARE YOU INTERESTED IN OR SKILLED IN BRAND IDENTITY AND MARKETING
STRATEGY? This committee is in the process of developing a broader
strategy for the organization to better engage with new and existing
audiences. We are currently seeking a PR/Marketing Intern or
Volunteer, a Photography/Videography Intern or Volunteer, and
additional committee members.
_This committee meets monthly in the second half of the month on a
Wednesday from 6:30-7:30pm.

FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE
ARE YOU INTERESTED IN OR SKILLED IN BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS AND RAISING
MONEY FOR A GOOD CAUSE? This committee works year-round to strategize
and execute new and existing means of funding the DURHAM ART GUILD'S
MISSION AND OPERATIONS. Members of this team aren't tasked with
directly asking for money, per se, but work with the team and
Executive Director collaboratively on improving or expanding our
funding streams. We are currently seeking two additional committee
members.
_This committee meets in the first half of the month in the late
afternoon or evening.

FINANCE COMMITTEE
ARE YOU A NUMBERS PERSON OR GOOD WITH FINANCIAL PLANNING? This
committee assists with budgeting and financial strategy for the
organization in addition to strengthening reporting and accountability
practices. We are currently seeking at least one additional committee
member.
_This committee meets on the third Thursday of every month in the am.
Flexible on schedule to accommodate new team members.

CURATORIAL SERVICES COMMITTEE (ART@WORK PROGRAM)
ARE YOU INTERESTED IN OR SKILLED IN CURATING ART, SALES AND
CULTIVATING RELATIONSHIPS? This committee focuses on advancing
DAG’s Art@Work Program aimed at connecting local artists to local
businesses. We are currently looking for one additional committee
member.
_This committee meets on a monthly or as needed basis or works on an
independent basis.

OTHER WAYS TO VOLUNTEER
DAG regularly relies on volunteers from month to month to assist with
gallery maintenance and exhibition installations. We also need
reception assistance during Third Friday DURHAM RECEPTIONS AT SUNTRUST
GALLERY AND THE DAG GALLERY AT GOLDEN BELT.

_The Creative Mentorship Program, which pairs local high school
students and professional artists in creative collaboration and

free studio space and a stipend_
