Inspired by the Jolabokaflod (Christmas Book Flood) in Iceland and the
WINTER HOLIDAY SPIRIT OF GIVING, receiving and renewal, prepare for
the coming year by experiencing a strong connection to the love,
compassion, and joy that flows within you and that the holidays
represent. THE WORKSHOP:
As the Winter Solstice will be upon us, Asana Practice will begin with
Sun Salutations to warm the body and celebrate the transition from the
shortest day to longer days. Standing poses remind us of our dynamic
presence as world-changing warriors for peace. Seated Postures slow us
down and develop compassion and respect. Inversions and variations
thereof - nourish our brains with oxygen and healthy blood flow to
support relaxation, creativity and opening to new ideas and
possibilities. Backbends allow us to experience the energizing effect
of opening our hearts to the flow of love within us and around
us. Constructive Relaxation gives us time to simply BE, in the
present moment, within the magnificent universe of our own bodies, and
within an encouraging community as we walk together on the path of
peace and transformation.
Group discussion and book exchange will follow.
