PineCone, the NC Museum of Natural Sciences and Raleigh Little Theatre
are seeking volunteers to serve as sighted guides at various events
throughout the year for people who are blind or low vision. Three
upcoming opportunities to serve as a sighted guide
include BugFest and Groove in the Garden, both on Saturday,
September 21, and the World of Bluegrass sponsored by Chiesi,
Tuesday - Saturday, September 24-28. No experience is necessary,
however, training is required. We are offering three training
opportunities for those interested in acting as a sighted guide.
Please join us at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences in
downtown Raleigh on Thursday, Augsut 22 from 5:00 -7:00 p.m. The
training will be held on fourth floor of the North Carolina Museum of
Natural Sciences in the Nature Exploration Center, Explore on 4
Room. Two other training are being offered on Thursday, Septembr 5 &
Sunday, September 8 at the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts.
