Let's head to CAROWINDS IN CHARLOTTE FOR A FUN SUNDAY OF ROLLER
COASTERS, Water Slides, and more. There's tons of great rides and fun
things to do there. You can check out all the rides and things to do
there at https://www.carowinds.com/ [https://www.carowinds.com/].
I've got a season pass along with several FRIENDS. CAROWINDS IS DOING
A BRING A FRIEND PROMOTION ON JUNE 18TH AND WE GET GET ADDITIONAL
SINGLE DAY TICKETS FOR ONLY $19.99. There's ways to get your ticket
either meet the group at 9:30 and we can walk up to the ticket booth
to get your ticket or email me (Brad EVANS) and I'll get you a
discount code so you can buy your ticket online. GROUP PLAN FOR THE
DAY: Carowinds opens at 10 for the General Public but in the past have
opened up Fury325 30 mins early for season pass holders. Also Carolina
Harbor opens up at 11 but typically opens up Blackbeard's Revenge and
Surf Club Harbor 30 mins early for season pass holders. Typically we
go as a group to Fury325 and then head to a few other coasters before
part of the group goes to the waterpark and the rest stay in
Carowinds. You can decide which you'd rather do. I usually grab lunch
sometime around 11am-noon and then get something else around 3-4pm.
I'm setting the meeting time for this event at 9:30am at Carowinds
Main Entrance. You would need to leave Raleigh by roughly 7am to get
to Carowinds at that time. If that's too early we can look into
setting up a 2nd time for people wanting to come around Noon (that'd
mean leaving Raleigh around 930am). The address to Carowinds is 14523
Carowinds Blvd Charlotte 28273. I posted a picture of our meeting spot
below so it should be easy to find it's by the ticket booth and before
you walk through the main entrance into the park.
IMPORTANT INFO ABOUT THE WATERPARK: Carowinds will not allow you on
certain slides if you have on any metal (buttons, rivets, snaps, etc).
Please make sure your swimwear doesn't have any metal on it if you're
wanting to do Blackbeard's Revenge and Storm Surge... it's not a big
deal if you're just there for the wave pool, lazy river, or tube
slides.
OTHER TIPS: I've been a few times this year and here's a few things
I've learned. On Sunday's before noon is the best time to try rides
due to limited lines. If you're wanting a lounge chair in the
waterpark try to get in there as quickly as possibly because they fill
up fast. Carowinds sells beach towels, sunscreen, swimwear, etc but
it's much cheaper to buy it elsewhere if you need it.
GROUP MEETING AT 9:30AM: I choose that time because it will allow you
to spend the least amount of time in lines waiting.
RUNNING LATE: This is a big place and I highly recommend everyone gets
to the event on time. If you're concerned about running late I suggest
buying your ticket online instead of waiting until you get to
Carowinds. If you miss the meeting time and didn't buy your ticket
online then you'll need to buy a regular ticket. I'll do the best I
can to help you find the group once you get inside if you're running
behind but it usually takes a while to respond. I don't have my phone
on me a lot of the time in the park because I'm on a ride and I rarely
get to check my phone in the water park because I leave it with my
towel while enjoying the slides and pools. If you do need to text you
can reach me at[masked] but please wait until you're in the park
before sending a message... if you send me a message asking where the
group is at when you're 20 mins away, driving through Carowinds
entrance, etc by the time you get there we will probably be on a
different ride by then.
All Ticket Prices & Options:
1) Carowinds is doing a Gold Season Pass Special for as low as $16 a
month ($96 total) that gets you admission to Carowinds, Carolina
Harbor, and Scarowinds all season long PLUS Free Parking all year and
early ride times for certain attractions. There's other season pass
packages available and definitely worth checking out.
2) Bring a Friend Discount Tickets for $19.99.
3) Online you can buy a single day ticket for $39.99. I'd recommend
this one if you don't have a season pass.
Here's a link to look at your
options https://www.carowinds.com/tickets/

If you don't do one of the options above Carowinds single day tickets
are $62 when you walk up to the ticket booth.
Parking Costs: I'd recommend carpooling as much as possible. Carowinds
does charge to park in their lot.
Will post more info as the event gets closer. Another meetup group
will be going to this event and they typically have 8-12 people show
up for Carowinds.
