Celebrating African American History in Raleigh

The annual Mayor’s Unity Day celebration is hosted by the Raleigh Human Relations Commission and aims to bring diverse elements of the community together to enhance understanding of different cultures. The public is invited to attend this free family celebration of history, food, music, dance and more!

All are invited to join us on:

Saturday, February 29th, 2020

Raleigh Convention Center

10:00 am – 3:00 pm

Registration begins at 9:30 am

There will be remarks from Mayor Pro-Tem Corey Branch and Saige Martin, City Councilor.

Entertainment will feature Raleigh’s African American history through spoken word, African drumming, and dance and a Cantata of spirituals featuring the gospel choirs of Shaw University, Saint Augustine’s University, NC State University and Southeast Raleigh High School.
