DISTANCE/OPEN WATER - 3 Part Series w/ Dan Kesler & Guest Coaches - Raleigh, NC 2026

This clinic series offers a unique opportunity for athletes to train with one of the premier distance coaches in the country. Led by NC State distance coach Dan Kesler, the Distance & Open Water series is designed for swimmers looking to develop endurance, pacing, and race strategy for distance and open water events. Each week will also feature a guest coach from the highest levels of distance and open water training and competition. Each session includes 15 minutes of targeted injury prevention and activation, followed by 90 minutes of focused in-water training. Two sessions will emphasize distance-based training to push athletes’ limits on pacing control, endurance, and race strategy. One session will be dedicated entirely to open water skills, with lane lines removed and buoys placed in the pool to simulate open water racing conditions. Sessions conclude with a weekly 20–30 minute discussion covering proper fueling, recovery strategies, and mental preparation specific to distance and open water athletes. This 3 session clinic series is open to anyone interested in distance or open water swimming, including triathletes. Athletes will leave each session challenged, better prepared, and equipped with practical tools to apply directly to training and competition.
