The Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival Best of the
Festival Tour provides communities around the world with an
award-winning and critically acclaimed selection of films; featuring
adventure, mountain culture, and mountain sport. VIMFF has been in
operation since 1998 in Vancouver; and between the 40 VIMFF shows in
Vancouver and the many Tour events worldwide (mostly in Canada and the
US, but also in Europe and South Africa), the VIMFF has an annual
audience of 22,000 and growing. The Vancouver International Mountain
Film Festival (VIMFF) itself is an annual international 9-day
community festival, featuring mountain film screenings, live
multimedia presentations, photography exhibitions, workshops, seminars
& other special events. We also offer an additional 5-day Speaker
Series program every Fall in North Vancouver & Vancouver.
Driven by a passion for film, culture, and the outdoors, the VIMFF
Society seeks to advance appreciation of films and filmmaking while
inspiring, informing, and educating the public in these areas.
VIMFF achieves its aim by producing film festivals and photo exhibits,
and providing a forum for filmmakers and photographers to present and
discuss their works. Its instructional seminars on films, filmmaking,
and photography provide further education for those seeking to develop
their skills.
