Who this event is for:
**Ages 5-12. Adult caregivers are required to accompany child participants.
ALLERGY NOTE: We will be making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches during this event.
What we’ll be doing:
At this event, children will learn about hunger in our community through an interactive hunger experiment. The activity, along with discussion, will bring to life the issue of food insecurity. To take action in addressing the issue, children will be invited to make sack lunches for The Open Shelter, which distributes between 150-200 sack lunches each day to hungry and homeless individuals in our community. Families will decorate an uplifting note to include in the bags, make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and assemble the sack lunches with additional food items.
