OhioMHAS Peer RECOVERY SUPPORTER (PRS) TRAINING IS A 40-hour TRAINING
TO BECOME A PEER RECOVERY SUPPORTER IN OHIO. The ADAMHS Board is a
host of OhioMHAS Peer Recovery Supporter (PRS) Trainings.
PRS Training is for individuals with a direct lived experience of
mental health and/or substance use issues. A "lived experience" means
that trainees are personally in recovery from a mental health and/or
substance use issue.
This training teaches individuals in recovery to use their experience
and recovery to help peers who are also in recovery. Individuals do
not need to have both a mental health and substance use issue to
attend the training, but they must personally be in recovery from an
addiction or mental health issue. Upon successful completion of this
training, participants with a lived experience will be eligible to
apply for certification as a Peer Recovery Supporter in the State of
Ohio.
This is a 40-hour training and participants must attend all 40 hours.
Lunch will be provided.
