To be eligible to register for the dance program AUDITIONS OR VIDEO
SUBMISSIONS, AUDITIONERS MUST FIRST apply for ADMISSION ACADEMICALLY
TO OKLAHOMA CITY UNIVERSITY. AND Students (domestic or international)
must have at least one of the following: ACT composite score of 20 or
above SAT composite score of 1030 or above Transfer
Students: Transfer students are required to submit college
transcripts to be evaluated to be eligible to AUDITION. Transfer
students with less than 27 completed semester credit hours
of academic courses must have qualifying ACT or SAT scores as
described above for entering freshmen and a minimum cumulative GPA of
3.00. Transfer students for all degree programs with over 26
completed semester credit hours of academic courses must have a
minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Transcripts may be sent prior to
registering for the AUDITION OR IMMEDIATELY AFTER REGISTERING.
Transcripts do not have to be official copies. Official or unofficial
transcripts can be submitted to Patti Biera via

audition is an Early Decision/Early Commitment audition. This means
that those attending this audition wish to become a student in the Ann
Lacy School of American Dance and Entertainment in fall 2019 and have
selected Oklahoma City University as their first choice
university/college and the OKCU dance program as their first choice
dance program. Students should not be applying to or attending
auditions for other programs after attending the early decision/early
commitment audition. We will notify auditioners of the audition
results within two or three weeks following the audition. Auditioners
who are accepted must make an early commitment to OKCU and the Ann
Lacy School in November to become a dance major for fall 2020,
applying for financial aid if needed, making a commitment
deposit, making a housing deposit, and taking other steps in good
faith to become an OKCU student in fall 2020, subject to acceptance
for admission by the university. Commitment deposits must be
submitted no later than March 15, 2020 or a dancer’s position may be
forfeited. Those needing to wait until May 1st to decide which
university they wish to attend should plan to attend our March
audition. ***ALL TICKETS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE AND NON-TRANSFERABLE
*** We have a no refund policy on our dance admission audition tickets
(this includes auditioners and observers). ALL SALES ARE FINAL. Please
make sure you have first applied academically to Oklahoma City, have
met our required ACT/SAT scores in order to be eligible to audition,
and checked your schedule for conflicts. For admission and
scholarship consideration: 1) Dancers must
apply academically to Oklahoma City University by January 12,
2020 2) Register for the Audition days by January 12,
2020. 3) Register for the Dance with the Stars event
held Friday, January 24th at www.okcu.edu/dancewstars NOTE:
Attendance/Participation in Friday and Saturday activities
are required for Early Decision / Early Commitment Auditioners.
Auditioners must complete all technique sessions and the personal
performance. Opportunities for Parents/Observers: 1)
Parents/Observers are welcome to sign up for Friday’s Dance with the
Stars Audition Information Day at no additional charge. 2)
Parents/Observers are welcome to watch the performance by the American
Spirit Dance Company on Saturday. 3) ONE observer per
auditioner may register for observing the audition classes on
Saturday. See fees for paid observers. 4) Solo
performances will be closed to observers. Registration deadline

Singing opportunity for auditioners who wish to be
evaluated for private voice lessons. Singing is NOT required. Dancers
who wish to sing must return a singing sign-up form which they will
receive via mail after they have registered for the dance audition.
Dancers who register after January 1st will not be eligible to sign
up for the singing opportunity.
