The Cascades West Training Center provides three training opportunities.
Red Cross Adult CPR/First Aid and Blood Borne Pathogen Certification
Learn how to recognize and respond to medical emergencies; how to provide immediate care in cardiac, breathing, and first aid emergencies until advanced medical personnel arrive; and how to protect yourself and others from bodily fluids using personal protective equipment following Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards. Certification valid for two years.
Class is offered on Friday, from 8:00 am - 12:00 pm, for $72.
National Safety Council Defensive Driving Certification
This class provides core knowledge and principals to drive defensively, and reinforces safe driving techniques and collision prevention strategies. Whether an experienced driver, assuming new driving tasks or commuting to work, this course helps keep drivers and their passengers safer by focusing on behavior, judgment, decision-making and consequences. Certification valid for three years.
Class is offered on Friday, from 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm, for $57.
Community Transportation Association of America (CTAA) Passenger Assistance Safety and Sensitivity (PASS) Certification
Become familiar and proficient at passenger assistance, disability awareness, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and how it relates to transportation, hands-on wheelchair securement, and emergency evacuation techniques. Certification valid for three years.
Class is offered on Saturday, from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, $77.
