Based out of Tijuana, Baja California, Wavves is a a noise rock band that blends surf and lo-fi sounds to create a unique style of indie music. Comprised of members Zach Hill, Jacob Cooper, Billy Hayes, and Ryan Ulsh, Wavves originally formed as a band in 2008 when they recorded a handful of 7"'s. It wasn't until the release of their self titled debut album later in 2008 that Wavves began receiving more attention both in the music community and with music fans. First recognized by the respected Pitchfork Media outlet, Wavves continues to be recognized by well known music sources like Spin and A.V. Club, and their music is loved by fans around the world. Since the 2008 release of their debut album, Wavves has released three more albums, including Wavvves, King of the Beach and Afraid of Heights, the latter of which produced their first chart reaching single, Demon to Lean On.
