The “Off the Beaten Path Tour,” visits a location where bodies
were dumped by the Murderer Jerry Brudos, as it meanders along Mill
Creek, ultimately to Salem’s old hanging ground. This tour sometimes
elicits reactions from guests that aren't seen on the regular Downtown
Tour. Oh, it’s spooky, you can count on that. In fact, the last time
I was in this area it was for a gathering of paranormal researchers
who recorded quite a bit of paranormal activity beneath Liberty
Street. This unique tour, which happens Thursday nights at 7:00 p.m.
takes you away from Salem’s streets and sidewalks, as it examines
the city’s Native history and other points of interest. The Off the
Beaten Path Tour meets Thursday nights at 7:00 on South Commercial St.
next to Salem’s City Hall and Library complex. The Salem Library
spans from Liberty St to Commercial St. You need to go to the
Commercial side for the tour, call if you have questions, and you can
call on the night of the tour and I will guide you in. Map your way to
the address 515 Commercial St SE, Salem, OR, which is the address for
Woodry's Furniture, and the City Library is across the street, parking
is free after 6:00 p.m. Copies of Tim King's new book, "Haunted Salem,
Oregon" are available for $20 at the end of each tour. Please be sure
to schedule your tour by calling 971 304 1345.
