About The Event
Session 1 is taught by Rodney Stewart, a seasoned art teacher and professional artist. Students will learn basic design concepts in architecture by building a small cardboard house and other fun things like swimming pools and sport courts. Stencils and styles will be available . Construction will include roofs, chimneys, porches and garages. If students have time a landscape around the house will also be developed.
This is a 2-day session for young people entering grades 5 - 8 in the Fall. This Summer Art Camp runs Tuesday & Wednesday from 9:30 am - 2:30 pm. Supplies and instruction are included in your fee. Each camper should bring their own snacks, lunches and beverages. Wear comfortable clothes that are ok to get messy in and comfortable shoes for walking. We may walk to City Park - a 2 block walk.
Each session is taught by artists with support from adult volunteers.
A note about scholarships & the registration system: TDAC offers scholarships on a sliding scale. When you check out, please indicate which level you are requesting. To register, the system requires a dollar amount thus the full scholarship is listed at $1. You are welcome to come into The Dalles Art Center to register in person and not pay the $1 fee.
