Description of his talk:
When you are inevitably hit by cybercriminals, the consequences could

attend Drexel University professor Rob D’Ovidio’s presentation. An
expert on electronic crime, Dr. D’Ovidio will explain how
cybercriminals commit electronic fraud against people like you and
me,and then teach you how to reduce your risk and mitigate the
potentially dreadful consequences of a successful attack.
Three Reasons for Attending Talk:
1. End users and consumers will find that it is no longer a question
of “if” they will fall victim to electronic FRAUD. Sadly, it’s a
question of “when” they will fall victim.
2. The methods used by criminals to commit FRAUD IN CYBERSPACE ARE
CONSTANTLY CHANGING. As such, continuing education is key to reducing
the likelihood of victimization.

Speaker Bio:
Dr. D’Ovidio is an Associate Professor in the Department of
Criminology and Justice Studies at Drexel University. He does research
and teaches in the areas of computer crime, DIGITAL INVESTIGATIONS AND
COMPUTER SECURITY. Dr. D’Ovidio’s current research examines
methods to increase end-user adoption of multi-factor authentication
solutions to prevent electronic FRAUD.
He is a member of the American Society of Criminology and sits on the
Computer Crime and DIGITAL EVIDENCE COMMITTEE OF THE INTERNATIONAL
ASSOCIATION OF CHIEFS OF POLICE. He provides regular commentary for
media outlets on news stories pertaining to computer crime, internet
safety, identity theft and electronic surveillance.
Dr. D’Ovidio received his Ph.D. in Criminal Justice from Temple
University.
