5,000 OPEN METER CROSS COUNTRY RACE & 1 MILE YOUTH (12 AND UNDER) CROSS COUNTRY RUN.
The Belmont Plateau Hall of Fame Classic is celebrating it's 5th year and will be held on Saturday, August 24 with a youth (6-12 yrs old) cross country mile at 8:45 am followed by the 5,000 cross country race at 9am. This race is the opening race of the cross country season at Belmont Plateau , America's premier venue for cross country racing since 1963. Both races are run on the challenging course with a good mix of grass, gravel trails, and hills. The race is open to all age groups and teams. The event is organized by the Belmont Plateau Cross Country Hall of Fame with the help of the City of Philadelphia Parks and Recreation Dept. and the Fairmount Park Conservancy. The overall mission of the Hall of Fame is to support and promote the sport of Cross Country/Distance running in the City of Philadelphia by selecting an annual nomination of past distance running champions to the HOF We also sponsor awards for XC Champs for Phila Public and Catholic League, helping in the annual maintenance of the XC trails at Belmont Plateau, and raising funds to build a "Walk of Fame" at the park. The race will be followed by a nomination ceremony of the " 2019 Class to the HOF" and a breakfast for runners.

Race day registration starts at 7:30 am at Belmont Plateau Park. 1 Mile Youth Cross Country Mile ($10 pre/$15 on race day), 5,000 Meter XC ($20 pre/$25 on race day). Online registration closes on Thurs (Aug 22). CASH AWARDS: Top 3 men and top 3 women ($100, $75, $50) and 10 year age group awards and top 3 MF runners in the youth XC Mile. TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP- There will be team competition and awards to top 3 Men and top 3 Women teams (Unlimited number on team with the top 3 scoring. The Hall of Fame Classic will also serve as the 2019 USATF Mid-Atlantic Master (Over 40 years old) Cross Country Championship.
