MEGA SPORTS CAMPWant to improve your skills this summer? Whether you
are interested in basketball, volleyball, soccer or art; we have it
all! Join us for 4 days of Mega Sports Camp.
Mega SPORTS CAMP WILL RUN FROM 9AM-12pm daily from June 18-21. We are
excited about hosting this SPORTS CAMP. Kids will have a chance to
work on their skills as well as hear from the Bible. There is no cost
to attend, however, we do ask that if you register and then can not
attend that you cancel your registration(s) or contact Peter Warde
(pwarde@bethelbc.org) so that we can release your spot for another
camper.
*Mega Sports Camp shirts will be available to purchase. They will be
$12 a shirt but there is a limited quantity available.
PreK-2nd Grade: Children entering PreK-2nd grade will have a
separate camp that will be working on different recreational
activities. They will have a blast as they participate in activities
and learn from the Bible.
3rd-6th Grade: Children ENTERING 3rd-6th grade will get to choose one
elective that they will participate in all week. They will be able to
learn the basic skills of the sport and scrimmage with other children.
Each day will close with hearing teaching from the Bible.
4 elective choices for kids entering 3rd - 6th grade:
Soccer: Want to play this fun sport? You will learn the skills
necessary! We have a great coaching staff that will help make this a
great experience.
VOLLEYBALL: Ever played volleyball before? You can learn the basics of
volleyball from three great coaches who will help you improve your
skills.
Basketball: Want to improve your basketball skills? Regardless of
whether you have played before, we are offering a sports camp to help
you improve your skills.
Art: Not much into sports? We are excited to offer an art elective
teaching the basics of pencil drawing, watercolor painting, and
acrylic painting on canvas. Objectives taught will be focusing on the
value scale and the color wheel.
FAQ's
1. Electives/Grades
Registration is on a first come, first serve basis. All of the
electives have a limited number of openings. We reserve the right to
close or cancel an elective at any time. We are not able to
accommodate elective changes during the week of Mega Sports Camp.
2. What if my child wants to bring a friend?
We welcome friends the week of Mega Sports Camp. Some electives may be
closed based on availability. We encourage children to attend all 4
days since most projects are cumulative. You may speak with our
registration director at check-in to answer further questions, or
contact our Children's Ministry Director, Peter Warde, prior to Mega
Sports Camp.
3. DO THEY NEED TO BRING ANYTHING?
* Soccer: Shin guards and soccer ball if they have one
* Basketball: Basketball if they have one
* Volleyball: Knee pads and volleyball if they have one
* Art: Nothing needed
*Please mark all items that your child brings with their first and
last name. The church is not responsible for items lost.
3. Do volunteers need clearances?
All volunteers serving at Bethel Baptist Church 18 & over who are
working with children & youth are required to have clearances as per
PA state law.
4. Can I place my child on a waiting list?
If an elective is full for Mega Sports Camp, register your child for
their second choice. You may inquire on Tuesday morning of
registration if there are any openings.
5. Can I update my registration information?
Yes. After your registration is complete, you can go back in and edit
your child's information.
6. How do you handle allergies?
Please indicate if your child has an allergy on the online form and
any additional information may be added in the comment section.
Allergy friendly snacks are available for children with allergies.
7. What if my child is sick?
We ask you keep your child at home if you observe any of the
following:
* Fever/Vomiting
* Discharge in or around the eyes
* Green or yellow runny nose
* Excessive coughing
* Diarrhea
* Questionable Rash
* Any communicable disease
If your child becomes ill or hurt while at Mega Sports Camp an
Incident Report will be completed and you will be notified.
If your child is being treated with an antibiotic, he or she must have
received treatment for at least 24 hours before coming to Mega Sports
Camp.
