Based on the popular comic strip and adapted from the Tony
Award-winning Best Musical, with a beloved book and score by Tony
Award winners, Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse and Martin
Charnin, Annie JR. features everyones favorite little redhead in her
very first adventure. With equal measures of pluck and positivity,
little orphan Annie charms everyone's hearts despite a next-to-nothing
start in 1930s New York City. Annie is determined to find the parents
who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of an orphanage run by the
cruel Miss Hannigan. Annie eventually foils Miss Hannigan's evil
machinations, finding a new home and family in billionaire Oliver
Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt
named Sandy. Presented by The Penguin Project at Mon River Arts, all
of the actors on the stage are children ages 10-21 with special needs.
They are joined by peer mentors, children of the same age who serve as
helpers during the show but stay in the background. Annie, Jr runs
Thursday, Sept 14 at 7pm, Friday Sept 15th at 7:00pm, Saturday Sept
16th at 7pm and Sunday Sept 17th at 2pm. Annie, Jr will be presented
with no intermission. An ASL interpreter will translate the show on
Sunday, September 17th for hearing impaired ticket holders. Tickets
are $15 in advance, $18 at the door. For more information check out
