WHAT’S THE PURPOSE?
We gather together Thursday MORNINGS TO CHALLENGE OUR GREATEST
WEAKNESSES, empowered as a team of even greater support. The idea is
simple... If you start your day by embracing and overcoming extreme
challenges, you re profoundly more likely to embrace and overcome the
rest of the challenges of the day, no matter how big. Embracing and
overcoming challenges is the cornerstone of the HCH culture and it is
what takes US step by step into our greater potentials.WHAT WE’LL
DO:
This week will be a gritty 3 mile loop run from the clubhouse to a
local trail and back. The degree of grit can be self regulated by each
individual to their comfort or discomfort level. The plan laid out
below may seem intimidating to some. We ASSURE you, you will not find
a more supportive team. If you are compelled to participate, but you
have fear obstructing you, trust that we will get you through that
fear.
We will run as a group, keeping in pace together.
HERE’S THE GRIT:
• Anyone at any time can call out an exercise (e.g. “Burpees!”)
for the group to stop and perform until the caller calls (“Run!)”.
• Nobody is required to do the called exercise. Personal
modification/scaling is encouraged.
• Anytime someone needs to slow to a walk, they must call out a
pedal exercise (e.g. “Walking Lunges!”) for the rest of the group
to perform until the caller calls “Run!”
•When anyone cannot keep up with the pace, they must call out
“Lead” and from there, they will lead until someone else replaces
them.
• If you are not feeling challenged enough by the pace, it is your
responsibility to call out grit layers.
• You may add any additional layer of grit to your personal
experience that you desire. Some of us will likely go in minimal
attire despite the elements (e.g. shoes/shorts/sports bra/hat).
We will keep it within a 45 minute window.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
• What you need to run outside in the elements.
• What you need to get ready for your day.
There is a shower at the clubhouse for anyone to use afterwards.
Towels/toiletries provided.
You may also spend the night at the clubhouse the night before, if you
desire. We have room for 15. Contact us to reserve.
Water is provided.
