in this input PGC’s Fine CRAFT AS A BUSINESS program is a
multi-faceted, year-long program for CRAFT ARTISTS OF ANY AGE WHO HAVE
LESS THAN TWO YEARS OF EXPERIENCE SELLING THEIR CRAFT/art. Our goal
has always been to assist PGC members who seek to become professional
or semi-professional artisans. As part of this program, we offer
workshops, open to any interested artisan, to help understand and
enhance your ability to present and sell what you make. This workshop
highlights several aspects of preparing for and exhibiting at a juried
CRAFT SHOW WITH 3 TOPICS: Applying for a show, including the types of
images you typically need for an application. Setting up an attractive
booth – from basic structural and safety considerations to
displaying your work in an attractive manner. Meeting and greeting
customers, closing a sale and dealing with “difficult” customers.
We will have an interactive exercise in setting up a booth, so please
bring 2-3 examples of your work, including any display equipment you
use. Presenters include Master Artisan Paula Lewis, enamelist and PGC
Vice President, Standards; and Master Artisan Dan Hayward, stained
glass and fused glass, PGC Board member and workshop instructor, and
Master Artisan, Carol Heisler, Quilter, and Fine CRAFT FAIR MANAGER.
