NO MORE DEATHS: DEFENDING THE GOOD SAMARITAN 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM
GREG KUYKENDALL, the attorney who defended the humanitarian who was
charged with felonies for offering water to migrants coming across the
desert into Arizona, will talk about the social and political context
of the case, and the legal strategy that resulted in an acquittal last
November. This was the first time the Religious Freedom Restoration
Act was used to successfully defend a person who was not a member of a
traditional organized religion.
