Cybersecurity requirements in government contracts and why does the US
Government care about cybersecurity? Get an overview on the
government as a whole and helps understand the relationship between
the FAR requirements, NIST 800-171, FEDRAMP, FISMA, etc.
James “Jim” Goepel, Presenter, CEO and General Counsel of Fathom

James (“Jim”) Goepel is CEO and General Counsel of Fathom Cyber
LLC, a board member of the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification
Accreditation Body (CMMC-AB) and an Adjunct Professor of Cybersecurity
at Drexel University’s Kline School of Law and LeBow College of
Business. Jim has extensive, practical experience in a wide range of
technology, business, and legal fields. For example, he worked as a
systems administrator and cybersecurity architect for organizations in
the Washington, DC area, including the United States House of
Representatives, where he was responsible for the operation,
maintenance, and security of legislative data systems. He also has
nearly two decades of experience as an attorney during which he has
advised cutting-edge technology companies and institutions on a
variety of legal matters. Before founding Fathom Cyber, Jim was the
General Counsel and Chief Technology Officer for a cybersecurity tools
vendor, in-house counsel to The Johns Hopkins University Applied
Physics Laboratory and Unisys Corporation, and outside counsel to a
wide range of organizations from start-ups to Fortune 50 companies.
This diverse background gives Jim a unique perspective into the
technical, business, and legal issues associated with cybersecurity
and data privacy. Jim earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and
Computer Engineering from Drexel University and Juris Doctorate (JD)
and Legum Magister (LLM) degrees from the Antonin Scalia Law School at
George Mason University.

INSTRUCTIONS - SMALL BUSINESS AND AGENCY TABLES IN EXHIBIT AREA
All small business exhibitors will receive a 6’ x 30” table, no
electricity will be provided. Tables selection is on a first-come,
first-served basis and will be setup in the foyer outside of the
Independence Ballroom.
Exhibits can be setup any time after 8:00 AM and must be setup by
8:30am.
Take down after 2:30 PM but recommended to leave up through 4:30 PM
AGENCY AND LARGE BUSINESSES MATCHMAKING HOSTS
Tables will be provided in the Benjamin Ballroom; tables will be
assigned. There will be two seats each for the hosts and guests. You
can bring marketing materials for the tables but, no displays.
Please be at your table immediately following the last session when we
will start the first 10minute session.
LARGE BUSINESS SPONSORS
Banners can be placed on each side off the speaker platform.
Please be setup by 8:30am.
