Asian food has become an integral part of American culture. General Tso’s chicken, sushi, pho, tikka masala, tom yum soup are part of everyday American diet just like hot dogs or pizzas. For years, Asian Americans have used food to preserve our traditions and transform our culture. Behind every Asian dish is a story of immigration, family, struggle, community, and love.
What Are You Eating? It Smells Weird... creates a space for us to come together and share those stories. Stories about family and food, cooking and eating food, food and the community, food and anything - we want to hear it all! This event will be part story slam and part open mic.
