Journaling & Sketching - Philadelphia, PA 2026

Begin your summer with a creative adventure in visual storytelling! Campers will learn how to design and build their own accordion book, with the option to add custom extensions as their ideas grow. Throughout the first week, they’ll use their handmade books as journals—experimenting with different techniques for capturing memories, thoughts, and observations. The camp also features guided nature walks, where campers will record sightings of birds, trees, and other natural wonders. With support from a professional artist, they’ll practice plein air drawing and create a personal sketch journal inspired by the world around them. With the help of a professional artist, campers will document their sightings through plein air drawings in a personal sketch journal. Born in Kenya, educated in England, and now living in Philadelphia as a neighbor of TPS, Bhavisha Patel is an artist who came to various mediums from a love of life experiences and a desire to express them. Please note: There will be no camp on June 19.
