_MY LOVE AFFAIR WITH THE BRAIN_ is an award-winning PBS documentary
that brings the viewer right into the heart of SCIENCE AND INTO A
DEEPER UNDERSTANDING OF your own BRAIN. Critically acclaimed,
extensively tested for educational use from 5th grade thru Nobel Prize
winners, this film is an intimate and inspirational portrait of one of
the founders of modern neuroscience.
Dr. Marian Diamond was the first to publish evidence that the brain
can change with experience and improve with enrichment. The film “My
Love Affair with the Brain” documents her groundbreaking
accomplishments, at a time when few women entered science. The film is
narrated by Mayim Bialik, star of TV’s BIG BANG THEORY (playing Amy
Fowler) and BLOSSOM (playing Blossom). Mayim not only plays a
neuroscientist on TV, but is one in real life!
After the movie, there will be panel discussion with local
neuroscientists Dr. Jayatri Das from the Franklin Institute, and Dr.
Oné R. Pagán from West Chester University.
A suggested donation of $15 will directly benefit the 500WS pod to
make science open, inclusive and accessible. All proceedes will
benefit the national 500 Women Scientists organization and the local
Philly pod of 500 Women Scientists, both 501(c)3 organizations.
